Sometimes the GOG version of GK3 crashes at some cutscene videos with an error message: "Unrecognized fatal exception". Is there a solution for this. My system is Windows 7 64-bit, Intel i5-2500k, GeForce GTX 560 Ti.

Ran it as admin and hasn't happened since.

When you ran as an administrator, did you have to start the game from scratch?
I've been running into the same cutscene crashing problem, but I tried running the game as an administrator and when I did, I couldn't restore a previously saved game.

Hmm, honestly I didn't notice.
As I encountered this issue early on, I didn't have a chance to play hours into the game so I didn't even have a savegame.

Sounds odd though... did you try making a new savegame while running as administrator and see if the game remembers that?

Fair enough. I didn't start getting the crashes until partway through Day 2.

I just tried saving as an administrator. It does remember that one. I'm guessing it has to do with the path it looks for the saved games did. It probably looks at a different folder when you run as an administrator. That's my guess anyway.

Interesting. I guess that's a frustration with Windows. All these silly features to protect users from themselves. I suppose it helps protect from intruders too, no idea. So would it make sense to always run games as an administrator as a rule?

It's kind of annoying, but in order to get by I've been watching somebody's playthrough on Youtube. So when I run into a cutscene that crashes I just find the cutscene on Youtube to see what I missed. I'm almost done the game now, so I won't have to worry about it for too much longer.

It would make sense to install games in a completely different disc, or just nowhere near the windowsfolder. If you have only one disc, create C:\Games and install all your games there to avoid further problems like this one.
