Maybe a dumb question - should this game have music playing when Gabriel is wandering about? I get music in the 'movies' but nowhere else. I remember that in GK1 there was always music going on.

Only in a small handful of locations, usually in tense moments. With the notable exception of the buskers in Marienplatz.
