I bought the game during GOG's sale at $4.99, then later, I found that the developer is also running a $4.99 sale ($7.49 now), which also includes the Linux version. This makes me regret that I bought from GOG. Is there anyway (except buy it again from the developer directly) that I can get the Linux version as well from GOG?
Currently no there is not.
It should be made a priority. I want to play it on my Linux machines as well.
I did buy from the developers.

I've found the Windows version to be more stable in Linux than the native Linux version.

I'd suggest you're not missing out on anything, and to just play using Wine.
Good to know, but I would still like to see GOG offering linux versions of it's games.

I found a post under Requested Site Features where one can vote for this.

Is there no way GOG could contact the developers and even if they don't add the Linux version for download (which they should), at least give users a way (like a voucher, or something) to download the Linux version from the developers?

My guess is it would be significant work for both parties for the benefit of relatively few people. And then people would ask for the same for all other games with a similar situation, and be disappointed if they were refused..
You could try going out to the developer's forum and asking about it. I know that the developers (only 2 of them) seem to be rather helpful. They might be able to help.
Where is FTL linux? :-(
Really? No answer to this? The Linux version is AVAILABLE. How come there is NO reaction to this from gog whatsoever?
Edit: JMich nailed it.

There is. Patience.
I too am excitedly awaiting the native Linux version of many of the GOG games I bought....not realizing that if I bought from the developer I could have had that Linux version.

I was burned by that a number of times, you would have thought that I would have learned.

Either way, they are working on it. I imagine they would need to not only host the installers, but also renegotiate some of their contracts with the publishers.

I'm actually quite happy I bought the games at GOG. Now most of my gaming library is on one place. :)
One month later, no news. This makes me sad :(
Installed in Xubuntu with Wine on a netbook (screen res 1024 X 600).
A little problem on initial run (resolution problem). I can select option and change the screen setting, but the mouse cannot reach quit to end game (mouse stop moving down in lower middle). Solved with hotkey Alt F4, restart the game and works like a charm.
