I injured my wrist so I'm looking for games to play with one hand. I've been looking forward to FTL and I'm wondering if I could play it with only one hand. I know it's a real-time game with a pause button, but how exactly do the controls work? is it primarily done with the mouse, or are there a lot of keyboard commands? Most importantly, are there any commands that require two keys to be pressed at once (i.e. shift + a letter key) or are there any shift-clicks or ctrl-clicks required?

Thanks!

You basically play the entire game with the mouse. Weapons can be selected using number keys, but I don't really bother myself. Left mouse, right mouse, space and escape. That's all you need.

I'm unaware of any other controls. So unless typing out custom names for ship and crew one handed is a problem, I'd say you're fine.
This is the in game control explanation;

You play with the mouse.

When you need to micromanage things more closely, you hit pause by pressing space on the keyboard.

I guess you could place the keyboard north of your mouse and extend the index a bit to press space as needed.

You can press escape to see the main menu in non-combat situations with mouse hand.

Sounds good. Switching between the mouse and spacebar won't be too hard. In fact, with my programmable mouse I might just map the spacebar to a spare mouse button and make the game entirely mouse-controlled.

Thanks for the info!
