This is for 11bit studios, it might be a bit late in development to suggest changes, but this stuff has been irking me since it started playing:

Readability of the map:

* the smoke stacks obscure a good bit of the view, I find this annoying when trying to look around.
* the washed out pallette sets the tone well, but the buildings look too indistinct. I have a lot of trouble identifying certain kinds of buildings without hovering over them.
* in general, the radial city planning creates a lot of overlapping silhouettes, especially with the smoke stacks and the big tower in the middle.

Some UI gripes:

* I would really, really (really!) like to be able to see resource trends without having to go into the economics pane. I feel that pulls me out of the game, in a way. I know new players could be turned off by being presented a Boeing control pannel. But I image simple pictoral representations of surplusses or deficits with maybe a number might be all that's needed. I think the most natural place would be on the sides of the screen, though there's already the bars at the top. This would be my number one suggestion.

* Frosted glass effect. I see why it's there and it doesn't really get in the way but I would still like to be able to turn it off :)

Graphics:

* I rather strongly feel like this games lacks proper antialising. The current solution just accentuates temporal aliasing. Especially with all the intricate wires and stuff going on. I guess this is out of the question but if I wanted one graphics feature this would be it. I image the artwork looking a lot better with it.
