I recently bought a Logitech 3D pro and FS2 can't detect any input from it. I know this is a problem that people have had and it was solved by installing Freespace open, but I've installed freespace open and the game still won't detect my joystick. Does anyone have this issue?

Have you selected the joystick in the launcher?
Also you may need to bind the controls manually, in case the game has decided that it can't tell which axis is which by itself.
Yes, I selected the joystick in the launcher and have tried remapping the controls, but still to no effect. My mouse doesn't register either. I'm stumped.

This should be impossible, the FSopen executable isn't an old program, you should ask here:
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/
It's the site of the developers of FSopen, they should be able to help you.
I will try asking there. I have a feeling the program didn't install correctly because it still seems like I'm playing vanilla fs2. Thank you for the quick response!

Wait a minute, are you using the launcher provided with the installation or are you still using the normal launcher?
Also you need to select the mediavps in the new launcher to have the updated graphics.
If a launcher was provided with the installation i can't locate it. The launcher I can find gives me no indication that it's for freespace open. It also seems like the installer isn't making any changes to my FS2 folder. I don't think it's installing properly.

It was a problem with the installation. For some reason the installer wasn't working properly so i did a manual install. everything is working fine now. Thank you for you're help!
