Everytime I try to start Freespace 2, I get an error message. This is what the error message contains: AppName: fs2.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: fs2.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 001b1f90
Any help here?

As with other issues with FS2 retail, this can probably be fixed by installing FreeSpace Open.
Use
http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/FreeSpace_Open_Installer
to get started.
