im running vista (kill me) and am having trouble getting this game to full screen. stuck playing in 640 x 480...i cant see anything...can anyone help?

IIRC, FS1 is limited to a max resolution of 800x600 or something like that. If you want to use more modern resolutions, you need to get FS2, then install FS_Open and the FreeSpace Port (which ports the FS1 missions to FS2).

If your using an nvidia or ati graphics card and a monitor with a dvi connection you can go into the control panel (at least I believe ati also support this) and play about with the scaler settings. Perhaps one of those will enable full screen of the game.
