-Thanks in advance

-NOTE - I MEAN FREESPACE 2 , NOT THE ORIGINAL

Well Freespace Open - a new open source engine that offers improvements in a whole host of areas - especially graphics, but also compatibility. It comes with a bunch of mods that you can play and load - including a mod that ports Freespace 1 into the new engine. That I would say is the most essential download, other than the game itself of course! :P

You can find the installation directions in the stickies for this forum by OldEnt.

Happy hunting!

Thanks. (I also presume you mean the SCP). I will proceed to download it then.

Thanks again
I would play it vanilla first if you can...especially Freespace 1, since the the Freespace Open project takes out the music (or something like that...I don't remember exactly...I just know it throws off the whole feel of the game)

TBH - I dont have freespace one, but bought 2.

Does the same apply?
No, I'm pretty sure FS2 doesn't have any drawbacks to installing FSOpen :)
