Hi.
I got freespace 2 last month and i have been having a lot of fun.
The only previous experience i had, with anything similar with the genre, was Freelancer so i was quite impressed
with how solid the game was. I was playing with a keyboard + mouse and its was going fairly well. The learning curve wasn't that bad and my only complaint was that i couldn't turn fast enough since i was using a mouse.

I decided to get a joystick so i bought a Thurstmaster usb joystick.
Although cheap it feels reasonably good. My only issue is with the deadzone.
The game doesn't respond to small movements. At first i thought the joystick was to blame,
but after testing it on windows the joystick's deadzone seems to be almost null.
I tested it, briefly, on battlefield 1942 and it responded quite smoothly.

I am concluding that, even at the lowest setting, the f2's deadzone is too huge to use my joystick accurately.
I didn't find a config file yet, so i ask you if you know of a way of lowering the f2 joystick's deadzone even further
than the in game options allow?

Thanks in advance

I increased the sensitivity to the max, while keeping the deadzone at the min, and now it seems the ship
responds to my most subtle movement. Where it felt dead now seems okay! =D

I would still like it better if we could pick a number for both of the settings.

Edit: I also calibrated it, even though it looked fine to me, just in case. Maybe that had something to do aswell.
