Since there is no official change log at GOG for Freeman:Guerrilla Warfare I have taken it upon my self to compile all the change logs from Steam.

To the best of my knowledge only V. 0.822 has been released at GOG. All prior builds were at Steam only. However I will include the change logs for the V.8 branch here so people can see the changes made. I will also try and keep it updated as new patches come out until such a time as an official store page patch log is set up.

V0.90 (April 27) (developer's forum with pictures)

Hello everyone,

We have just released v0.90. There are a lot of things that we have been working on for this update. A few major things are:

1. Soldier customization

Yes, we have added it back. The reason why we canceled it in the previous updates were because of modding and balancing. But we have found solutions for that, so we gladly added it back. The change is that if you want to hire a soldier with equipment, you will also need to buy their equipment, which is expensive, or you can hire them without equipment. This has a significant impact on the economy of course, but we have also tweaked the economy system to balance everything out. Now you would feel much more like a real guerrilla leader, starting from nothing and struggling to equip each of your guys. When a soldier levels up, they won't level into a new "Class", instead, they will gain attribute points. For example, a Pozna sniper will earn about 1 point in marksmanship and 10 points in rifle efficiency every time he levels up. Looting will be the primary source of getting equipment for your army.


2. World Map AI and Economy

It is still a work in progress. Each faction will have a starting budget, and they will use it to hire troops. AI factions will make money from city taxes and through combat. If a faction lost a city, its economy would be influenced, and it will likely result in a drop of army size. Factions with more cities will have a stronger and stronger economy and may dominate the world. And for the player, it is also true because in the late period of the game the player will need a large amount of finance to sustain a considerable army, which can only be achieved efficiently by owning cities. As for improvements in world map AI. NPC armies will no longer roam randomly. They will guard their cities, patrol near their villages, scout another faction's cities, join combat and etc.


3. Dialog and Diplomacy System.

We have added dialog when you encounter an army on the world map. Diplomacy is also done during the dialog phrase. For example, when you encounter a neutral faction, you may bribe them to increase relationship or ask them to pay the passage fee. Or when you were caught by bandits, you may try to persuade them to let you go.


4. Optimized Saving System.

In the previous versions, saving may take a few minutes, but now it will only take around 0.2 seconds. We are still working to make loading the game faster though.

5. General Optimization.

Optimization in Freeman is a complicated job which requires us to go through each system to pinpoint the issues. So far we have optimized resource loading, squad customization screen, inventory screen, entering combat speed and various world-map related lags. There are still much to be done in this area.

6. Much more accurate auto-combat system.

We have designed a much better auto-combat algorithm that can simulate real in-game combat without actually entering the battle. The result is somewhat 90% close to actual combat. Now you no longer need to worry about unfair auto-resolve.

7. We also put significant effort into modding. In fact, we are already using our own tools to tweak the game rather than doing everything in the game engine. All these tools will be available after the official release.

We have released the official version of 0.93. We have fixed a lot of bugs based on the feedback of the test version, such as the extra large enemy's visual range, one bullet insta kill and so on. we also optimized the behavior of AI soldiers, such as when the squad encounters hostiles, units in the rear will also actively move to the front and engage, or for example when the player gives the move order, the engaging team will try their best to move instead of always lying on the ground. 1. Companion System

Companions like Anna can be hired from town pubs or captured in battles. We added personality dialogues to each of our companions. Through dialogue, you can get interesting information about their background stories, personalities, hobbies and so on. At the same time, players can improve their friendliness by chatting with them and giving them gifts. Enhanced friendliness can unlock more conversations and interactions - such as love. We added the gift shop, and players need to discover each companion's preferences through dialogue in order to buy the right gifts. Except for these entertaining interactions, companions are also of great significance to the game-play itself. You can organize them into your own team like soldiers, or you can make them independent from you and let them lead their own army, helping you to attack and defend cities. Each companion has different skills. Some are suitable for combat, some are suitable for leading, and some are suitable for managing towns. These skills include leadership, tactics, financial skills, town management and so on. Different companions have different requirements for joining, some need a large commission, some requires high reputation. After the campaign is complete, each companion will also have a corresponding ending. The stories are only 20% done, and we will keep working on it.


2. Enhanced world map faction AI

The AI faction forces will do more complex things. For example, to gather troops to attack a city in group, to reconnoiter the enemy city, to revenge when their cities are taken, and so on.


3. Improved Soldier Customization System

More proficiency attributes have been added, such as grenade launcher, throwing and armor proficiency. At the same time, the accessory slots are added, which can be used to equip grenade launchers, first-aid kits, night vision goggles and grenades to soldiers.


4. Added a number of bandit factions

- Desert Bandits: Appear In the desert zone of Cherniv.
- Mountain Bandits: They appear in the southern mountains.
- Pirates: Appear near the coast.
- Cossack Rebels: On the territories of the Free Cossack Army.
- Snow Wolves: Appear in the northern snowland.


5. Added the beginning background selection

We expanded the world map and made clear geographical distinctions. The southern part of Cherniv Island consists of plains, peninsulas and mountains. The central part is desertification zone. The northwest part is snowland. And the northeast part is forest and swamp.


7. The game's lore.

Based on the current lore, we have written Cherniv's history, the background stories of various factions and the corresponding stories of each companion.


8. Optimize the combat frame-rate In previous versions, players reported significant frame drops during combat. We have a series of optimization for this problem. The frame rate in combat is greatly increased. At the same time, we also added the V-sync option, which can turn on and off in the settings panel.

Other important modifications.

- Pressing the Y key can speed up the time on the world map.
- Added desert, snow and mountain maps.

Hi everyone,

We have released version 0.94. We have added many things and made many adjustments in this build. The major changes are as follows.

- Group Combat: Your companion generals and allies will join your combat when near and enemy armies nearby will also join combat as reinforcement.

For the next build, we will keep working on a few new features and keep polishing the current ones. We will keep improving game balance, player experience, sound effects, and UI.

Hello everyone,

We have uploaded the V0.943 beta to the beta test branch.

The major changes are as follows:

- Fixed the issue that the game runs incorrectly after loading the game (this is due to API incompatibility and we have fixed it)
- Increased maximum level cap of soldiers to level 15 again.
- Faction armies' level (different faction troops have different initial levels)
- Some UI optimizations (we will continue to improve the UI and user experience in the following updates)
- Right mouse button to rotate cameras.
- Fixed some localization errors.

- Black market appears randomly according to player's level.

Update 1.32 (19 December 2019)

Features:
- New Battle Maps. Four new battle maps are available now.
- Improved graphics on the world map and battle map.
- Improved graphics for impact effects.
- Added Army difficulty indicator on the world map.
- Players can rearrange items in inventory now.
- Auto-sort function for player’s inventory can be turned on/off in the Store.
- New reactions added. When an AI takes hit, it will respond with new reaction movements, which allows players to clearly know the result.
- When selling items in a market place, players can turn on the auto-sort function, which allows faster trading.

Balancing:
- Increased exp, money and loot drops from fighting Looters and Mountain Bandits.
- Decreased difficulty for outlaw factions.
- Adjusted some soldiers’ armor and outfit.

Optimization:
- Customized trajectories for each bullet type, in order to improve graphics.
- Removed the option to attach a silencer to SV98M and Thompson.
- Adjusted the damage speed of bulletproof vests and helmets in the game. Now hitting by different weapons, the same armor will last differently.
- Trees, bushes, leaves and their shades now block AI soldier's sight more effectively than before. Players are now encouraged to unitize the terrain, therefore creating various battle plans, such as ambush, and supersizing counter-attack.
- Optimized the graphics of trees and stones in general in the battle maps.
- Optimized the graphics of trees and stones when taking hit in the battle maps.

Bug fixes:
- Soldiers sometimes stand under the battle map during the fight.
- Gambling sometimes doesn't give rewards and occasionally displays customized weapons.
- Black market generates no items after loading the game.
- Wrong world map army position after loading the game.
- AI armies stop spawning in new campaign mode.
- Duplicating item when equipping the soldier from Special Item Slot.
- Soldiers occasionally spawned under the ground, in the bandit camp map.
