AND this *developer.

According to Steam, 24 updates/patches since 1.0 release, including today's release... Can I yet play it without serious problems?

https://steamdb.info/app/690830/patchnotes/

No! UI still ridiculously small and I STILL cannot lower the resolution, because I don't get to choose a map, it's randomly chosen for me at lower resolutions :-S. A game I paid FULL PRICE for.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I'm not the only one who needs help:

I will NEVER buy another of their products. Why would I waste my money again on a game that I probably will not even be able to play?

Blacksmith Master is an example of how to do it with accessibility, even Tavern Master, their previous game. In fact, I have more than a few games where the devs get it right and even adjust it if it's not working for some, including Manor Lords, a similar game with fewer bugs.

Rant over.

Edit: Altered some words, especially one word marked with *, that was open to interpretation and I didn't want anyone to think I meant gog... I didn't. I've always had SUPERB service since I first joined :-).

Okay, I understand that this can be annoying. But in this case, I seem to be overlooking something... you can set the UI to 150% and it will be pretty much bigger, isn't that enough?

I wish that was enough, but unfortunately it isn't.

Feel free to test all of this, I have never used Mods, so this is all vanilla game...

You've altered the UI scaling in-game there, try altering it from the main menu before loading your save, it makes NO difference to the menu etc., ONLY in-game, so even setting everything up is a nightmare.

Lowering my resolution would help, in-game at least, but... The only widescreen resolution that would help me is 720p and when I choose that, it locks the map, so I am unable to choose where I want to play.

Lower resolutions will work, even 1024x768, which still allows me to choose a map, but then it's stretched (I set my graphics card to work that way, for my older games). I can alter that stretching, but that would make the image smaller on-screen.

I have no idea why 720p is the ONLY widescreen resolution which locks the map, but I'd suggest it's a programming error, based on my experience with this game since 1.0 release.

26 patches/updates now and no fixes in-sight for the issues above. The map-locking was also mentioned on Steam shortly after 1.0 was released, so the devs SHOULD be aware of all of this...
Now I understand. It really should be more accessible.

Have you tried setting your preferences in the configuration file before starting the game?

.../Documents/Polymorph Games/Foundation/usersetting.config

Maybe it will work if you enter your preferred resolution there.

But of course it remains annoying either way. Manor Lords is not a solution either - the game is something completely different... and not very good.... ;)
Thank you for the suggestion, it is appreciated :-).

Unfortunately, it didn't make any difference, the map was still locked @ 720p and the main menu UI was still too small :-(.

Honestly, I love Manor Lords, can't wait to see what's in-store for the future of that game :-D.

Also, I posted a review of Manor Lords and mentioned that the UI Scaling would only go so far and if you took it any higher, things would start disappearing off-screen... The Dev made some adjustments to the scaling, how it should be done :-).

The devs in this case, seem to be leaving those of us who can't play their game, unless we jump through hoops, exactly as we are, maybe until THEY decide they're ready? Hard to say, but given that those of us who have posted about these issues have heard nothing from them, even a review posted on the game page here pointed-out the UI/Font issues, I suspect it will be a long wait, IF they ever fix this situation. Nothing on their roadmap either, unless they altered it recently. *shrugs*

Thanks again for the suggestion :-).
