so i been building my village for the past day, it was going fine until suddenly my villagers started to have no space for housing when there are houses built and they was staying in, i have no idea whats going on i think its a bug or something, i tried marking new areas to build houses but no luck, should i destroy the houses and see if they will build them again?

im just scared that ill ruin my progress but from the looks it seems broken..

i posted a screenshot of it.. the number keeps going up.. i just saved and left the game

i just seen that most of them need service, aka the cross and shield logo, is that a church? because i just added 2 more and still hasn't changed

Hey darthraiderhd,

The service icon does indeed mean the church. The small church you have is likely not enough for 97 villagers, however that is not the issue with the housing.

There are some tools that will help. In the top left menu you will find a warning panel. When opened it will be showing High which can be clicked on to open a dropdown. Change this to low and you will see any issues with housing or other issues.

There are a couple of rules for housing
- All villagers require housing near their workplaces (<150m) approx 1 hex width.
- Commoners and above require higher desirability housing zones. So if you have upgraded all your villagers to commoners then it is likely that you need to increase the housing zone desirability so that they can upgrade their houses. Decorations and some buildings will increase desirability (green circle on buildings etc.)

Also bear in mind when upgrading villager status that it will lower their efficiency as they will spend more time fulfilling the extra needs. You can see their needs if you click on an individual villager.

Edit: Also if you are having issues with immigration open the village info panel (also top left) and hover over the immigration section to see the factors affecting it.
