Getting huge FPS drops in the rooms with lava and falling rocks. Tried changing most of the graphics options, nothing seems to help. Any ideas please?

UPDATE (Workaround):

Turning off Hyperthreading on my CPU has completely solved all performance problems. Not an ideal fix, and would appreciate a patch to fix this in the near future.

I've just tried it on my wife's PC (an older 4770k build) and it doesn't happen, so it must be something to do with my set up. Starting the process of ruling stuff out...
Can confirm disabling hyperthreading (through disabling jobs_enable in the console) completely fixed it for me too, hopefully they can just add a toggle in the game's options for it through an update.

Nice, I'll give the jobs_enable option a try. It looks like this can be changed in the config file too:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Nightdive Studios\Forsaken EX\kexengine.cfg
same here, couldn't get constant 144 fps.
Yes, I am noticing almost a rubberbanding effect. The FPS seems to be very inconsistent.

I have an I7 8700k, GTX 1070 and 16gb of RAM. I should be getting a constant 144 fps.

Which line are you supposed to change in the config file?

I guess it is seta jobs_enable "1".
