Anyone else have any issues with the sounds? At first I had the music and the voices audible but could not hear any sound effects (weapon hits, etc.)

After I finished the first chapter I lost the voices as well. Any ideas?

Hardware/OS specs? What sound settings are you using? We need some details if we are going to provide you any kind of meaningful help.
My hardware is a Sound Blaster X-FI on Windows 7.

I had what I would have described as the exact same problem. I found out that Demon Stone uses EAX, so I installed Creative Alchemy and the problem seems fixed. Sound effects and music now sound perfectly balanced on all levels I have played.

Unfortunately, if you don't have an Sound Blaster you can't use the program, and I'm not aware of any alternatives.

::EDIT::
I found one for Realtek cards called Realtek 3D Soundback here. It sounds a bit buggy but could be worth a shot for those using onboard sound.

Having sound issues too. Sigmatel. Can't find anything that would work sadly.
have you tried with patch 1.1 ? found here

I don't understand if it's already there, cause the readme on gog version is older than the one in the patch...

one of the correction included is:
"- Completing the game, starting a New Game, and starts the intro IGC for Battlefield, the audio will now play."

so maybe can resolve your issue...
I have problems too. Specifcally with the voices. I start chapter two, the gem mines. the starting cutscene has no voices but music and sfx. I had voices in chapter 1, so they definitely work.

I use Win7 x64 and a Creative X-Fi eXtreme Music.

Same problem for me here. No solution found up to now. Ideas anybody?
About the only "solution" I have is to just restart the chapter as soon as you enter it and it'll be fine... until the next chapter.

I am also having this issue. I just downloaded this game, installed it, started a new campaign, and I'm only getting part of the sound. The intro rendered cutscene where you walk through a forest and a dragon attacks the city in front of you is missing all of the sound. Is this scene working for anyone? If so, would you mind sharing the settings you are running the game under? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Try to lauch with Windows XP mode
Heres A fix for the sounds goto C:\GOG games\Demon Stone (where C:\ is the drive letter you installed it to mine is K:\) open the folder scroll down until you see a file called DemonStone.exe right click on it then click on properties then click on the Compatibility tab tick run in compatibility mode for **WINDOWS 98 / WINDOWS ME** tick Disable visual themes tick Disable desktop composition tick Disable display scaling on high DPI settings click on Apply click on OK then run the game Normally.
