Do I need to download the patch or is it included with the original install?

The very beginning of the game sticks you in a camp surrounded by A LOT of orcs which made my FPS take a nasty hit. After each one I killed it got better and by the time I got down to the last two I was running great. My question is, will I be seeing groups that big a lot? If not I can rev up the settings and deal with it, but if the game is constant hordes of baddies I'd better trun off the bells and whistles. Thanks! :D

AFAIK, the patch will be included later but for now just download the patch along with the installer :D.

Where you hanging out waiting for someone to post in here!? XD I couldn't have gotten the answer any faster had you been sitting in my room with me.

To other posters, regarding my second but, I turned off shadows and everything runs great regardless of number of baddies. Should have known. All my other games, even the really old ones, fall apart if I have shadows on but run flawlessly otherwise. The query still stands though if anyone has anything thoughts of FPS in this game I'm always curious about tweeks. :D

I played through Demon Stone less than a month ago and never noticed any drop in the framerate. No tweaks were necessary. Maybe your drivers don't like it. :/ Do you have another machine to test on? Demon Stone should run on modest hardware.

My system:
Athlon II x3 @3.0GHz
Radeon 7770 1 GB
6GB RAM

It runs great maxed out so long as I have the shadows off. All games are like that on my pc which is fine. I never thought I was missing a whole lot by not having complex shadows everywhere I went.

I just reinstalled Demon Stone on my system. The game runs the same speed for me with or without shadows. It looks better to my eye with shadows but I suppose they're not really that important.

Oh well, such quirks and complexities are one of the privileges of PC gaming I guess. XD
