I just said bye Felicia to Siulajia again. Is there any trick to making the romance happen. I noticed on GBC the effects display showed both the lead character and Siulajia had an effect $83. If I changed that effect, could it make a difference?
$80, $81, and $82 appear to be used (given the monster list) for possession of the various colored crystals, so it's likely this range is being used for 'story' variables.

As per the cluebook, if you have a character at the head of your party when entering Geildarr's Keep, you will attract Jabarkas (if female) or Siulajia (if male). If you enjoy this sort of thing, you could reload before Geildarr's Keep and see what events get added as you progress through the game.

Apparently if you hang back in combat or 'show cruelty to helpless people or don't pursue the Good' Siulajia/Jabarkas gets annoyed and leaves. I loaded Treasures with my Pools of Darkness party (yes, you can do this) and ran around getting in random encounters instead of advancing in the game quests, and Siulajia got depressed and left.

Given that they have *the same effect*, though, I suspect it's just a marker for who's following the romance plot, and the actual progress (or lack thereof) is stored in the save game data.
