check in your folder:
D:\GOGGames\Pool of Radiance\POOLRAD (or where ever you installed it)

You shall see savgamc.dat, but by the sound of it, it isn't there I assume.
The game displays normally all available saves with their appropriate letters (A-J something like that).

And question: Did the game quit? What are your options?
It just stayed on the screen where the options to create new character, add character to party, load saved game.I noticed if I save a couple times to different slots eg B C or whatever it doesn’t do it as much.

Win 10 by any chance?

Where did you install it to?

If you did choose program(86) what ever....shame on you...
Never, ever...yes really never ever....did I mention already? never ever install into this folder!!!!!

Win has never been able to handle this folder properly for permission rights.

Install games into anything but this. Like I did with the path mentioned above.

It sounds like it can't access this files. So manually check what I mentioned (easiest way as I assume you don't know much ;) about computers, apologies if this assumption is wrong ;), do a right click on the shortcut or in the start menu on choose properties, opens up another window in there click on open filepath, this shall open an explorer to the folder just right above on level we are looking for, go into POOLRAD and check for the above mentioned files )

EDIT: and just FYI, if you use the reply function (hover over my post, top right corner, and click reply) I will get a notification that you replied to me ;)
