This is for the games in the Collection 2.

As you may know, the Modify Character will allow you to max out a character's stats and hit points, but only if you haven't used the character, or at least, that is what the manual would have you believe. The actual requirement is that the character's experience point total must be the same as the amount a new character starts with.

Therefore, you can do something like the following:

In Pools of Darkness:

Level up your Ranger to level 17.
Dual class her into a mage.
Earn experience until the character has exactly 1,500,001 experience points. (Yes, this has to be exact, or the trick will not work; if you overlevel, some level draining might be in order.)
You can now use the Modify Character option to give the character maximum HP. You can also modify ability scores, but in this case, the game won't let you give the character any exceptional strength.
Man, you are tiresome.
I noticed that my Ranger 13 -> Mage 1 with 13 constitution (with XP hacked to 1,500,001) can get up to 105 HP with this method, which is 11 more than the amount the character should be able to have. Interesting.

Also, I can think of a method to get a mage's XP to land on this particular amount. Level the mage up to level 14, cast Energy Drain on her, and then cast Restoration on her. If I understand the way level draining works correctly, this should give you a level 14 mage with the required amount of experience to use "Modify Character"; especially nice if you are dual-classing.

Doing this with other classes, however, won't be so easy.
