Played Krynn series and POR using GBC, no problems. I installed CotAB, but can't get it working with GBC. Using the "setup GOG" button results in CotAB not being recognized (game is installed, and loads / plays). I set up the directory manually, but when using "GOG settings" button to configure dosbox (like I did with POR), yields error message of "game not installed". Renaming the install directory from "Curse of the Azure Bonds (1.2)" to "Curse of the Azure Bonds" allows the "setup GOG" button to recognize the game, but "GOG settings" button still gives "game not installed" error.

Has anyone gotten this game to work with GBC? GBC makes these old games very playable and is now a necessity!

GBC is showing the following warning messages:

CURSE OF THE AZURE BONDS
========================

- WARNING: File "start.exe" size does not match with expected size (70308 vs 57789 bytes)!
- WARNING: File "game.ovr" size does not match with expected size (271731 vs 272137 bytes)!

Are you using the GOG version of Curse? GOG has the 1.3 version of Curse which is what GBC is configured for.

The "game not installed" error message when "GOG settings" is clicked is not from GBC. GBC just executes the GOG settings tool (that comes with the game). "GOG settings" only works with GOG versions.

You don't have to run "GOG settings" for GBC to work. And it can be run from start menu where the game should have created a folder.

All that is really needed is to set the correct folder for the game which can be also set manually.
Thanks for the feedback. I am using a PC, and using the GOG version of the game. In my GOG library, there is version 1.2, not 1.3. Due to the file size differences noted, it does appear the issue is with having the wrong version of the game. If GBC is set up to work with version 1.3, how do I get that version? Is there an update patch on GOG? Why wouldn't my library have the latest version?

I mostly use GOG Galaxy which downloads the latest game versions.

If you go to the GOG.com website, your game library and Curse's page. You'll see download links for the 1.2 on the right side in game goodies.

But if you click Curse of the Azure Bonds from the left, under classic game installers, it downloads the 1.3 version.
Problem solved with using version 1.31! Thanks all for the help.
