been *many* a year since I played these games on my old Amiga, lol ;)
I recall there was some way to control henchmen in Gold box Games, base of Charisma or some such??
but my top most character has 18 charisma (cheated lol modded gave everyone 18s, been through these games before....I recall issues, sigh)

So in Secrets of the Silver Blades I've found and recruited Vala the Silver Blade fighter. but can't control her which screws up my battle strategy!

any tips would be welcome! :)
I remember for the Krynn series, it requires having a Knight, with a high Charisma increasing your chances. Not sure when/if they started implementing that in FR.

I know you can override it with the Goldbox Companion. If you open the editor, and select the NPC, there's an option there that says NPC. Change that to 0 and you can control them in combat (at least for Curse you can).

restarted game and the Charisma increase seemed to have worked
however then I remembered NPCs suck up items and cna't get them back...blerg!
So, Vala is ditched :p
Such a silly way to do NPCs?! sigh

thanks for the reply! :) much appreciated

never played the Kyrnn games, just the Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft and Dark Sun ones.

Wish GOG had Pool of Radiance #2, the 3rd ed game, in the store! wasn't great but was still fun
Still have the boxed set but tweaked/improved would be lovely...like starting out at least level 3!!
seriously what numbskull goes to nasty places at lvl 1?! :P

Eye of the Beholders were my intro to owning my own computer (Amiga)

I've been enjoying the Pathfinder Kingmaker game, but got burned out on it (redoing it multiple times due to bugs, trying different characters etc)
so these old games are a NICE change of pace, oddly enough! :)
I still have my disc for PoR 2 as well. Fortunately I never ran into that bug for uninstalling it like others did (I never uninstalled anything back then).

Have you had a chance to try some of the modules for Unlimited Adventures yet? Some of them were pretty good. I remember one that included X-File characters (Rox Boulder and Nana Skully?), the person from Doom (he had a rocket launcher for his weapon that was essentially Meteor Swarm), Star Trek/Star Wars characters, and a few others as NPCs throughout the game. I don't remember the storyline for it, but I remember it being hilarious.

yeah Atari forced many games out before studios were ready and had TONS of bugs and that was a one I have no idea how it got passed any checks, eeek!

lol no never tried those! :p
I did love Dungeon Hack back in the day as my preffered "random adventure maker"

and those funny characters remind me of Fallout 2 (when fixed with the unofficial patch)
omg, the silliness! :P

You made be do a google search to see if I could find that adventure again, haha!

It's called The Final Reckoning. You can download a whole bunch of them from this website here. I believe most of them require UAShell to be insalled alongside.

thank you for that! very kind of you :)

currently in Secret of the Silverblades on lvl 9 of the Mines ;)
She doesn't need to be controlled.
Just cast Enlarge on her and watch she destroy everything in her path.
