I encountered a problem when setting this game up. It seems that for some users, when opening the game, it will hang on a white screen and be unresponsive. It didn't seem like anyone had a definitive answer. so I thought I'd post it. I've tried a few different things to get it to work and it seems like I may have a solution.

If you're experiencing this bug, it seems that the d3d9 or the d3d9font file have something to do with it. I removed the line for the d3d9font file in the config.json file and, while the game does run, it has a broken font.

Here's what I removed to get it to work:
"plugin/D3D9Font.dll",

As a disclaimer, I don't know if this causes any other problems but at least you can get into the game and play somewhat normally. If you ever want to restore the game to initial condition, you can always verify the files via GOG's launcher by right clicking on the game and managing the installation.
