First I should mention, since this is a common misconception: Games For Windows Live was never shut down, as it's technically still the same service that is now called Xbox Live for PC. Only the name changed. As such, all the Games For Windows Live games still have their original online modes, unless you're using the newest patches in some cases.

But since this is the GOG version which tend to remove all traces of DRM, I figure I'd better ask. Does this have Xbox Live multiplayer?

The only flatout game that has games for windows live is Ultimate Carnage which Is currently not available on GOG :(

My bad, I thought Ultimate Carnage was a special edition/DLC of the original Flatout.

In that case I'll just buy the game then, assuming there's a LAN mode most likely.

Yes Flatout 1 and Flatout 2 both have LAN

If you are not sure if a game has LAN or not you can always check pcgamingwiki.com

I found inaccuracies for older and/or less popular games in the past when trying to look up stuff. It's better to google and ask around as well.
