I have upgraded to windows 10. So far, most stuff does work very well, besides a few (gog) games. One of this games is FlatOut. I tried to reinstall it many times, but I always get the message, that I have to login with administrator privileges. I already tried it without any success. Finally I decided to ask google about it so that I found this thread: http://community.bugbeargames.com/index.php?topic=8155.0

There they are saying that the support for SecuROM and SafeDisc was removed in windows 10 and that this is the reason why the game isnt working anymore.

Now I am wondering whether the DRM free gog platform is selling software that contains DRM which finally prevents playing the bought games on new systems or why else it isnt working.

Does someone else experience this problem and could someone verify or falsify the DRM thing in gogs version of the game and whether I / we can expect further non working games on gog because of DRM?
Yes it does, and yes, GOG are are selling DRM FREE games that have DRM in them.

I'll be writing support shortly, can't wait for their reply...
They did address this with an updated installer in response to that recent Windows update. However something has gone seriously wrong as the installer does not work and the flatout.exe file actually attempted to bring in a trojan. I would beware and keep your eyes open about another update.
Same here, malware detected. I made a separate thread about it, but for things like this the more people that see it before they try to install it the better. I don't know if it's a real issue or not just yet until GOG can clarify but here's a screenshot from my AV.

I know I've posted this in two other threads but I'd rather be regarded as a pest than someone who saw a potential issue but didn't speak up.

Guess it would be terrible to spend that time researching false positives and how to submit files you are uncertain about?

And during that time people would be installing this not knowing there was a potential issue. I think what would be the most terrible thing if this was indeed a trojan and someone installed it onto their system and screwed it up.

My first priority for this was to put the information out there. Who says afterwards I didn't try to determine if this was a false positive?

yeah, I tried installing it twice and both times my antivirus said that it blocked a trojan.
You people are nuts.

I know DYNORYNO has Norton, how many of the rest of you do?

I once had Norton identify itself as a virus which turned out to be the only time it correctly identified something. :P

No not really, some (or really quite a few) of GOG games contain neutralized DRM. The DRM files or code is still present but has been neutralized so it does not effect the end user or the game making the game DRM free. So essentially left over none functioning DRM is sometimes left in the game. Since up to this point Flatout was not supported on Windows 10, it's is not GOG's fault if it conflicted with the way the DRM was neutralized, since basically Windows 10 left out a system driver that the game needed for CD games, and I believe GOG rips a lot of games they sell right from the CD copy if they can't get an original version from the publisher (assuming it was related to that issue).. This has not been corrected via a patch and Flatout works just fine on Windows 10 now.
