I don't see any mention of Steam in the description or requirements... anyone know?
No Steam. If you buy a game from GoG you can install it free on any of your PCs. No Steam required - no DRM attached.
That's why the GOG version of a game is always the best, no need for a heavy DRM-filled client like Steam to run in background :D
Thanks guys.

I'm okay with Steam, sometimes makes installing / patching easier than without... does GoG do a good job keeping their games up-to-date, patch wise?

As far as it seems, GOG is rather good at keeping games up to date. Sometimes by their own hand, other times by the developers.

Patches are appearing with a seperate installer which you can manually download if you so desire.
Patches for the Games i bought here were brought as fast as the developer released them( i believe 1 patch of Legend of Grimrock was late but i can be mistaken).

So yes they release patches too. And they also upodate the main installer so the next time you download the game it is already at the latest version.
On the other hand, is there a possibility to add Fez as Steam game when I bought it on GOG? Now it's added as "non-steam game" but it is available on Steam so it should add as Steam game. So? What about that?
As <ou said you can add it as non Steam Game. But since it is not activated via steam(and when you buy it here you obviously get no steam key) you will not get steam updates or anything like that. May i ask why you would bother with that procedure? Buy it on Steam if you want to use this game with steam.

Note: iam a KRAUT so i may sound impolite - unintentional!

Here it is $8.99, on Steam it is €8.99 so it makes a difference for me. It's just nice to have achievements... I'm kinda into them.

Like AfroMetal said it: Less expensive on GoG. 7€ instead of 9€. And i already bought it on x360 so i don't care about achievements this time.

And about the procedure: Steam Big Picture. It's a fast switch PC to TV screen for games.
Edit : Yep, no achievements with the GoG version, but like i said, personally i already got all the achievements on the x360 version. And take the Steam version just for achievements, paying 30% more... No thanks. Plus, there was a contest here. It's > *.

ahh thats a good point. And it works with the bigscreen feature since you can add it to steam. But that way the achievements(if there are any) are missing and you still have to manually update.
By buying the game via the Humble store, you got the DRM-Free version + a Steam key (can't post the link, it's on the Polytron site).
...
Thats the thing. DRM free and Steam? Does that mean i can activate it via steam, but Steam is not needed to run the game? I heard that some games can be executed without Steam running. Is that true for Fez?
Since you get a DRM-Free version too, there'll be no problem. But for the Steam version, i don't know how it's packaged. I almost never try to launch a Steam game without Steam. And when i tried, Steam was auto-launched to launch the game next.

This make me a little angry. I didn't pre-order the game to get a "hey, you bought the game before the release? Too bad, you missed drm-free+steam key for the (almost) same price, you mad?". Plus, apparently they got 95% from Humble store, while only 70% from Steam/GoG. That's a pure non-sense.

"Pre-order to get less", yeah sure, no more pre-orders.

Yeah, give us (gog pre-ordered) steam keys! We deserve it! :)
