Please test my Fear 2 Hud Toggle mod and let me know if it works for you. Read the Fear2-hudtoggle.txt file for instructions. Let me know if I should explain anything differently.
It also reduces the slow-mo enemy glow effect. It can be disabled completely, but I think it looks good at this level.

(The topic is a typo. "Be my guinea pig" is what it should have been).

Special thanks to 4everAwake and DarkStarSword for their help.

Here's the DL link (updated version, edited readme and included disable batch file):

To make this mod I used the Helix Mod:

Disclaimer: Do a virus scan on any files you download. It's just good practice.

--Note: This does not change game files in any way. It just loads alternate shaders into memory when the game runs. Removing this mod will return your game to normal.

Screenshot shows Fear 2 with the hud toggled OFF and in slow-motion with reduced enemy glow effect. It's now what I think ti originally should have been. For that screenshot, HDR and ambient occlusion were ON, blur and AA were off. You can still use them if you want. My PC just isn't powerful enough.

If you can play with HDR and Ambient Occlusion your PC is powerful enough... because they eat more resoources than AA or motion blur or high shadows and lights on, you turned something else off to not have low framerate or have input lag in QTEs like boss or chapter 13 Alama unavoidalbe killing elevator sequence. At least all details, effects and textures must be set to high to fully appreciate this game world with stuff like shadows and lighting bein optional. On some outdoor maps you actually see nothing at all wih all that fog and smoke everywhere. ;-)

I like the hud and highlighted enemies in slowmo as they are so won't use it often but yes.
I can't get the download to work, neither with Chrome nor Firefox, neither with or without adblock... Could you please re-upload anywhere else? :/

Sorry for the delay. Here's the page with links to download the hud mods. My version (the hud toggle mod) is the second method which works with the addon Fear 2 Reborn as well as the original game (while option 1 only works with the original game and was made by someone else).

You will likely need an Nvidia video card for those mods to work.
