So, please hear me out before the inevitable face-palms.

I love this game (Far Cry 1) , and played it a number of times when it first came out. Beside Half-Life(s), this would be my next favourite shooter of all time. But that was many years ago. I am now 53 with arthritis slowing my fingers down quite a bit.
So... I want to play this game again... I don't as a rule support Cheating.. but I am currently stuck (45 loads and counting) getting onto the deck of the ship and I know that there are at least 4 or 5 other scenes in the game where I'm going to get equally bogged down. And yes, I have looked up many techniques on Youtube.

Anyway... sob story done... I cannot get any interation/version/handy hint to work for me.

1. Looked up all of the console commands and set the shortcut to -devmode. Apparently they all stopped working in v1.40.
2. Tried the more recent devmode.lua edits which place backspace as the key of choice. Nothing.
3. Tried the various Trainers out there. Either no luck or they couldnt find where the game was stored.

I just want to be able to switch it on for the gnarly bits and off for the rest of the time. No extra ammo or flying.
