I would like to get Far Cry 1 for my Win7 pc (I have it on an old XP system on disc, but want to experience 1920 x1080 on Win7)

I also want to avoid the enemy shooting through walls thing.

A while ago I downloaded FCAM 1.999 in anticipation, but never got round to buying Far Cry1 here.

Do I have the right Mod for 1920x1080 and proper cover from enemies?

If so, do I need to move the Mod from my downloads folder to somewhere in the Far Cry directory before running it, or can I run it from the downloads folder like a GOG installer. (I know it's not a GOG Mod, but some Mods have installers that find where the game is, some, well, some don't.

The FCAM contains fixes for most bugs, yes. More than that I cannot help you as I have not used that mod since long before the final version. I am pretty sure the enemies seeing through walls bug is covered.

Thanks for that, Themken. As it happens the Gog version has just (today) been updated to overcome the invisible cover problem The Farout Mod is apparantly either available as a patch or built in to the installer.
