Hi,

When only I set Video Option "Very High",FarCry1 is "Not Responding" and black screen.(both In-game setting and FarCryConfigurator.exe)
When Video Option is "High" or lower,that's not happened.

I want to play the game Very High.
Would you let me know.

I don't know the answer, but many times a game that has settings such as "High" and "Very High" also has an "Advanced" or "Custom" (or something similar), and when it does, you choose "High" or "Very High" and it just pre-selects options in the "Advanced" or "Custom" area.

If Far Cry 1 is like that - you can choose the two settings ("High" and "Very High"), then look at the individual settings under "Advanced" or "Custom" and see what changed.

Oftentimes it's just one particular setting that "kills" the game.

For example, perhaps one setting is for a "version" of DirectX, and "High" chooses one while "Very High" chooses another. If you can narrow done the one "killer" setting, and just flip that one thing, oftentimes you can get the game to work while all the other setttings are still at "Very High".

Unless/until someone comes along with a specific answer - you might be able to troubleshoot it this way and maybe "get lucky"...

For the sake of brevity:

Go to your FarCry directory
Look for system.cfg file.
Edit it with notepad.
Change the value of r_ShadersPrecache from 1 to 0.
Save and close file
Restart the game,

Edit: I only saw the original post loaded... Probably long overdue, but set Lighting quality down to High.
