Jarmo: Gog can show sales figures if they think that lures bethesda, no reason to assume there'd be any significant up- or downtick.

Petrell: I highly doubt Interplay would approve GOG showing any kind of Fallout sales figures to Bethesda. Most they can show is how high ranking Fallout's had before being pulled and how often it was on top seller of the week (these were available to public before the pull).
Aren't they able to show sales figures to potential publishers? I'm almost sure they've made comments about it being important to have good sales figures to show new publishers; perhaps during the regional pricing incident? If so, then this wouldn't be much different, except that the game in question is the one being sold.

Well, dev's and publishers have generally been very reclutant to show any kind of sales figueres as they are considered trade secrets. When they do, it's generally vague x million. Only few indie devs and CD Project RED (Wither 2) have revealed exact sales figures across platforms. So I'm pretty sure GOG requires permission from the rights owner (in fallout case it was Interplay at the time) to be allowed to show figures for specific game to other devs and publishers. They can, however show general sales figures (dayly, weekly, monthly) and sales of witcher games. They can probably also tell sales figures of some games without telling what game it is from. Obviously it's possible that their contracts allow them to be more specific behind closed doors and under NDA.
