I recently got Fallout 2 on here and I loved it, but now I want a squad-based game like X-Com. should I get Fallout Tactics, or another game on here like Jagged Alliance? If so, which one?
Mmmm... You want a squad-based, turn-based combat game?
Tricky. Jagged alliance has some pretty high ratings, but there's no question that Fallout: Tactics is prettier, smoother, and can be played in real time as well as in turn-based mode.
Having played Fallout Tactics, but NOT Jagged Alliance... I'd have to say that Tactics is a fun game, but kind of limited and short. It's also fairly easy; although it is a squad-based game, it's entirely possible to play through the whole game with only one character if you're clever about it. It may be difficult in real-time mode to prevent your team members from shooting eachother. There are plenty of strategy games out there which have better gameplay, and may also have a better plot.
JA2 is better especially after you get some experience with it and THEN load up some of the recommended mods for it.
Alright, thanks. I think I'm going to pick up JA2 sometime soon.
I really enjoyed Jagged Alliance 2, and would recommend picking it up.
Not so sure about the mods, I liked the vanilla experience so much I didn't want to change it too much.

I second that.
Alright, it seems like the opinion is generally in favor of JA2, so I think I'll pick that one up, just as soon as I get my laptop fixed, of course.
Also, another question, what about JA2:UB or Wildfire? Should I bother with those?

I found both of them worth their money.
However you should definitely start with JA2.
Wildfire and UB are harder.
You can load your mercs from JA2 into UB, including your custom merc.
It makes the game harder, but you grow attached to your mercs.
Alright, thanks for the help, guys. I'll consider picking up UB and wildfire once I'm done with JA2, which I have yet to actually get. One step at a time, I guess
