I've fixed almost everything, but if I remove the two 256 color compatibility entries in the registry, I just get application errors pretty much no matter what set of options I try in the high res patch config menu.

On the other hand I've managed to get everything running just through wine after pasting the GOG folder on another wine install, so I'm mildly confused. First I thought it might be the lack of dx9, but adding the dlls doesn't do much and winetricks doesn't seem to want to install the full dx9 properly.

I seriously haven't touched windows in a while, so some of this stuff feels somewhat esoteric :/
