i just got the steam fallout collection for just 1,5 bucks!

1. i want normally the soundtracks too from gog.com but i wanted to ask if those are maybe LEGALLY available for download anyway, or if the game (when installed) includes the soundtrack?

2. is the STEAM version also cut like the gog.com version? is the intro from fallout 1 and the kids cut? if so does someone know if the steam version is also fixable like the gog.com version?
Hi.

1. Soundtrack for free from Mark Morgan himself:

2. Yes, the Steam version is also cut.
The intro is cut and there are no children.
You can patch that though.

but not the intro i guess ;), is the intro uncut on gog.com? and what was cut?
Nah, I did not find a way to make the intro uncut, but that is someone I can get over it: Watch it on youtube. :)

I don't know if the intro is cut on the GOG version.

There is a scene missing where you see a man enchained sitting on the floor and a man in a powerarmor walks to him and shoot him in the head, kick the dead body and wave into the camera. In the cut intro you just see the guy in the power armor walking to the enchained man and the scene kind of fades out.
If I remember correctly Fallout 1+2 are mainly cut because the (cut) European version was patched the highest. So most newer releases should have that one. But there is an easy patch for most on NMA as you discovered.
I have also don't remember about the intro in the GOG version, I'll check when I get home this evening.
thanks mates, it would be interesting to know if gog.com version is uncut in the intro.

also would you suggest the fan made patches=?

Caine123: also would you suggest the fan made patches=?
Yeah, definately. The F1-Res mod is a must in my opinion and if you have played Fallout a dozen times the FIXT mod adds a lot new content.

but does the patch alter the original experience? make the game less hard etc.?
So if you want the original Fallout experience then I would recommend only installing the high resolution mod. This only let's you run the game in a better resolution (what a surprise) and fixes the rainbow colors.

FIXT changes A LOT of the game, ingame scripts, new NPCs, changed quests, etc. etc. etc. and yes the balancing also (sometimes harder, sometimes easier, it depends). So this mod is only something for you if you played the "original" Fallout a lot and want a whole new experience.

The handcuffed Canadian is shot in the head twice, no kicks.
I have Fallout 1 US disc that was bundled with games magazine back in 1999.
If there's demand, can try extracting the video, so anyone can include it in their game.
ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! So I should have just stuck with the disc version?

maybe i'll make patch mod or rather a bundle of patches or how to on how to un cut and un sensor it.

Wow, that is lame.

I think there's a moral obligation to undermine this kind of censorship.
