It's well known that the GOG version of FalloutNV.exe is already 4GB patched, but I launch my game using nvse_loader.exe. Does this mean I am missing out on the benefits of the patching done by GOG? Can I patch the nvse_loader.exe and get those benefits back?

I've been messing with FNVLodgen and also larger textures, had good results but some crashes and wondered if memory might be a problem.

p.s. why am I still a 'new user' I registered in 2009 - apparently.

Yes, memory might be a problem in your case. Larger textures with other resource intensive modes for NV requires more video or operative memory. If you have installed many of such modes and you are sure that the game consumes more then 4GB, you can check Task Manager and see if the 4GB patch really works.

As to your last question, you can change that by yourself. Go to "My Settings", search for Forum "title" entry and type there whatever you like.

You can use the nvse_loader.exe and still have the benefits of the 4GB patch.
The nvse_loader.exe just enables all those fancy scripts in the game itself :)
it doesn't replace/obsoletes the regular FalloutNV.exe in any kind of way.

When it comes to crashing that can have many reasons well first and foremost
it is still the Fallout3 engine witch is not really that great and given the fact that
Obsidian only had 18 month to make the game does its part.
Also the more mods you load the more fragile the whole game becomes.

You can change it here: https://www.gog.com/forum/mysettings
Thankyou for the replies, useful stuff:)
