Welcome to GOG and the GOG forums....

Fallout is a good game i bought it at release on cd i have all 3 classic games and GOG versions as well.

I never heard of a purple prompt or seen one ..... also never heard/ read about not being able to install a game, i do know of may problems that arise after installing.

Anyway i guess you have to wait till someone replies that knows of this problem , i'm also curious of what would cause a grey prompt ....

I have the same problem here. Through Galaxy the install button for Fallout 2 is violet and the one for Fallout 1 is greyed out! :(

aaaaaaaaand solved it! :D @Public_Seeker. I installed it via GOG Homepage. There you can install a "GOG_Galaxy_Fallout" Data and click on it on the desktop (4 example) and it starts to install on Galaxy through this.

I also used the above method to download it, but now it shows up twice (notice the tiled effect on the cover art)

I had The same problem when trying to download from the GOG app. I went to GOG.com logged in and
was able to download to my browser (Firefox). The ran the install from there.
Hello i got the same problem and I found a solution.
You have in top of the page 2 square and you had to change your "fallout" between the 2 fallout option and one can be installed the other one no idk why
