I don't care how stupid this question is. I haven't played this game in like seven years and I don't understand how to rest. There is no button or quick key for it. There doesn't seem to be a place to rest in the first village. What gives? Thanks.

open your pip boy and then click on the bell up at the top, it'll then give you how long you want to rest.

just go anywhere outside the town, enter area, and do as Weclock said
[providing You have a vault suit, but since You're in the first village, You've arleady got it]
