Hi,

I'm very tempted to buy Fallout 2 (only played 3, missed the first two, no idea how)

I'm wondering if its possible to play FO2 at a decent resolution?
I can't play on 640x480 as I have poor eyesight, would like to know if I can play at at 1024x768 or maybe 1680x1050?

Thanks!

First, you would probably be better off starting from FO1 since that's the beginning of the story, there's a high resolution patch for that as well.

Second, I don't understand your point actually. With 640x480 (or was 800x600 also supported, can't remember) everything is really big on your screen, with higher resolutions everything gets progressively smaller. Seems counter intuitive to seek higher resolutions because of poor eyesight.

I play games in windowed mode and thus games of that res can look like a postage stamp on my screen.

Yeah its annoying but I have to play in windowed mode so I can see my other screen at all times and my pc really dislikes me alt-tabbing it goes crazy flickering the screens for 3-5 secs each time I do it so I avoid it. :)

Well that I can understand, but you do realize that being a non-3D-game, while increasing the resolution does reveal more of the surrounding area, the characters and text size don't change.

I didn't know that, that's a problem. Thanks for telling me!
