I think there was a German localization of Fallout 1. Unfortunately, due to censorship, this made the game unplayable when trying to complete quests that centered around The Glow. The only solution was to play the game in English. Thus, you'd still have to play the game in English in order to complete it :D

I have the German versions of Fallout 1 and 2 (video/audio were translated too) and always wondered why I wasn't able to finish the glow, damn.

There should be now a beta translation for the FIXT project for fallout 1 (I guess with the glow problem fixed)

I only knew of the F2 Restoration Project but not that there was something similar for F1 too.

Fallout 1 and 2 suck in german.
They were cut.
Fallout 1 and 2 are better in English.

So, the english version is not "better" anymore.

Yep and the traditional old decensoring patch for F1+F2 works well with the common HD mods too (for those who don't want the other official patches).
