Saw this over at No Mutants allowed: the free and pay service gameranger now can be used to play Multiplayer Fallout Tactics online.
Having never used the service, I can't tell you how it works...but I am going to check it out soon. It is both free with ads and pay with no ads and some sort of extended service.
The gameranger service covers both PC and Mac.
Thought you all might want to know ;)

GameRanger has been around for awhile for Macs, but it's new to PC...the guy heading it up has been plastering ads all over the place for support of older games...Close Combat, People's General, etc.
I've never tried it (I'm a little wary because you don't get forum access or anything until AFTER downloading and installing the software), but I have seen a few gameplay site review places where the majority of mac users don't have much good to say.
Well I figured peopel that are interested in it would research it a bit before using it. I don't know many other services that are offering Fallout Tactics MP, so I thought I'd post this.
Not having a mac, I didn't hear about it until recently..still haven't downloaded it though.
Thanks for mentioning this, deejrandom.
Crassmaster, the forums are tied to accounts created by the app. The forums are completely custom and are designed to integrate with various features in the app. eg. Viewing someone's profile switches back to the app to display it. I realise this is a little different to what many people are expecting.
It has generally been pretty well received. Here's some feedback from other games, if you're curious:
Homeworld
MechWarrior 3
Stronghold
No problem. I have Fallout Tactics and thought people might want a place to play MP Online. I'm going to try it out, honest ;)
Gamespy Arcade supports Tactics MP. But I've been trying that with my friend and we've been having some troubles.
It seems that the game doesn't always like launching when prompted by it. When I try to host, I'll get into the game, but my friend will freeze up. When he tries to host, we both freeze.
I'll try GameRanger when I get a chance and post the results.
Edit:
Okay. Just tried it. Was able to get a game going with two people, both with the Bronze (free) accounts. Game ran fine for both people.
