So the game's running at 2000+ fps which makes my graphic card slowly overheat. I tried the following with no luck:

- forcing vsync in graphic card's control panel
- forcing vsync via D3DOverrider (doesn't work with FT)
- fps limiter (apparently doesn't work on Win 7)
- underclocking graphic card (still generates A LOT of frames)

I cannot play FT due to this problem, any ideas?

Do you have an nvidia card?

I also I'm getting a lot of FPS especially in menu but if I leave the mouse alone apparently it falls down to 32FPS without any limiting options.

Anyway, if you don't mind the slugish effect on the mouse due to a limit option download nvidia inspector and try the FPS limiter there. MSI AfterBurner also have one and that one work regardless if you have Nvidia or ATI.
I have Radeon 5770. Sadly MSI AfterBurner doesn't work. I also tried "java fps limiter", DxTory, D3DOverrider and RadeonPro. None of them works for FOT :(
