Hi everyone. I've encoutered a very annoying bug in New Vegas that I can't seem to solve no matter how hard I try. Sometime during the ending cutscene of Old World Blues, my SLP need in hardcore mode shot up to 275 for some reason. Nothing I do can bring it down to 0, nothing ingame or in the console, it seems to have just defaulted to 275 and there it stays forever. My character now has permanent sleep deprivation, which is very annoying.

After much frustration and a lot of internet searches, I cannot find any answer to my problem other than "you're screwed, load a previous save" which I don't have anymore. Is there no game file I can edit? Why has this even happened in the first place? My only mods are Project Nevada and YUP, and I don't think they're causing problems.

HC needs are unfortunately pretty buggy, that one seems to happen usually when starting/ending DLC. Some of the bugs have only recently been fixed by mods like JIP LN NVSE Plugin.

Did you try player.SetAV SleepDeprivation 0 console command? Or turning HC mode off and back on again? If those don't work for you, then I'm not sure is there anything you can do to fix it.

The console command works for Hunger and Dehydration, but SleepDeprivation is invalid so I tried Fatigue. I can set Hunger to 500 and back to 0, same for Dehydration, but nothing can affect Fatigue. The command is accepted, but still nothing happens, it's just stuck there.

Oh and toggling HC mode off and on does nothing either. I guess it's goodbye HC mode, it was good while it lasted in the DLC.

From what I understand Obsidian added a "feature" in Dead Money where the Sleep meter is disabled for the duration of the DLC, for some reason parts of the "feature" got caries over to the other DLC's and sometimes it gets buggy.
I suggest you:
1. Create a clean save
2. Insert console command coc <GSDocMitchellHouse>
3. Exit Doc Mitchells house and then enter again
4. Sleep and exit Doc's house
5. Insert console command coc <NVDLC02DeadHorsesCamp>
This should reset the meter.

These commands do not work. It says "missing paramater String". I have to ask, what business do I have with an Honest Hearts location when you're talking about Dead Money? Shouldn't I input Sierra Madre commands?
Sorry, my bad I messed up Old world blues and Honest Hearts. My point was that there is a known bug with "Sleep" in all New Vegas DLCs stemming from Dead money.

Does the bug carry over to the original game after Old World Blues ending, after returning to Mohave?

Yes, the bug persists outside the DLC. I understand what you're trying to do, but I need console commands that work first.

(try with the Cell Id's)
Sadly Old World Blues and Lonesome Road Cell ID's are missing from that list. You can find the Id of the cells missing in their individual wikia pages.
Do you have any mods installed?

So I'm supposed to teleport from one cell to another and that resets the need meter? Also I already said what my mods are.

Yeah you are right, your mods should not mess with hardcore. Yes teleport from a cell in the bugged DLC to a cell in the main game and sleep.

The teleport does not work, it says "missing parameter String". I don't actually need to teleport, though, the DLC is finished, I can just go to any bed in the regular game. However, sleeping does nothing.

Damn, I'm out of ideas, sorry that I was not of any help. Hope you find a solution.

Sleep and then use the following console command: Player.SetAv SleepDeprevation 0
I got the bug and fixed it with this console command:
player.setAV sleepdeprevation 1 (yes I know it’s misspelled but that’s how they programmed it)
Old post, but I got similar bugs when setting the timescale through the console. Reduced it from the default (30) to 10 and sometimes the sleep, food, etc. meters would skyrocket for no reason.
