I personally was skeptical at the beginning- turn-based RPG's were never my thing, but I heard that Fallout was good. I gave a shot, and holy hell am I glad I did. I can't explain why, but Fallout is a simply sublime experience, even for a rabid RPG hater such as myself. If you call yourself a gamer in any sense of the word, you owe it to yourself to pick this up and give it a shot.
I've never been an rpg enthusiast myself though I ocasionally indulge in an rpg once in a while. I was originally drawn to Fallout because of the sci-fi pos-apocalyptic settings and like you this game's high quality made me reconsider my opinion on rpg, though I've never found another rpg game that was so enjoyable as fallout 1 and 2. I totally understand your view. Cheers and watch out for those radscorpions (and Ian's erratic aim).
