I can't seem to find the version number, though when I mouse over the Fallout2 folder it says V. 1.0.0.0. I don't know if the V # also applies to the Fallout 1, as it installed to another folder, for some reason.
Does this mean that I need to patch this to V1.2?

Load the game up and once on the menu screen look at the bottom left corner it should have the version number right there. It should already be 1.2 though.

No problem, its fairly faint in the corner anyway. A couple patches I do advise getting are the childrens patch and high res mod.

Oh, how fate does like to shuffle from the bottom of the deck sometimes. If I had read this response back then, I might have DLed the hi-res patch and started playing. Instead, I found Fallout 3 GOTY on sale, and so many games have followed that path, I'll likely never get the time to play FAllout 1/2, which is sad, indeed. Heck, after playing Skyrim for a few months, I'm now cruising through the DC Wasteland, again, though with a few mods installed.

I'm feeling kinda weak, so I'll cut this short. Too much blood loss from resurrecting this zombie thread!

Brains! Brains! err...

Its well worth finding the time to play at least the first fallout game which can be completed fairly fast for this type of RPG. Took me 20 hours or so and was well worth it.

Sorry for my tardy reply. I have been told that my soul will be forever lost if I do not play at least the first Fallout. Here's my new dilemma. Not only do I have Fallout 3 that I STILL haven't finished, but Fallout: NV, Skyrim, The Witcher 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dead Space 1 and 2, Rage, Borderlands, Crysis 1, 2 and Warhead, The entire STALKER series, and a few more scattered over 3 game DLing sites. I tell myself that, as slowly as I play I really shouldn't buy more games, but I am so far behind that the games I want to play are usually in the $5 or $10 bins. Heck, it was $17.50 for all of the Crysis games. So, as much as I know I'm missing, I'm too busy to cry right now. hehe
