On January 15 a new mod will be released for Fallout: New Vegas. To call this a mod is an understatement. This will be essentially a new game, with its own map, weapons, armour, full voice acting -- including more lines than in Fallout 3, and it even has cars you can drive.

In the game you will travel to Portland, Oregon where the nuclear war has caused a nuclear winter. There are three factions you can side with, NCR, Legion and a new faction, The Crusaders -- an offshoot of Brotherhood of Steel.

The mod will be free and to play it you will need a PC version of Fallout: New Vegas and all its DLCs. If you have Fallout: New Vegas GOTY, you're good to go.

The mod will be available on their webpage. But also on Steam (if your copy of Fallout: New Vegas is from Steam) and Nexusmods. If you have a Steam version, you can use Steam to install the mod. If you have it from GOG or any other source, you can use Nexusmods or their portal, Vortex. Or just install it manually.

Read this through since you might need to install some additional mods.

This mod has been years in the making and the wait is finally over!
Apparently siding with factions is going to be a bigger deal than in the base game. You can't play all sides until the very end. Instead, you need to choose the faction you side with and follow that questline.

The NCR path is going to be the longest and most linear. Without side content it will be a 35h playthrough. Side content can double it.

The Legion requires an existing karma level with them, but apparently there is going to be a bypass if you want to start a new game and not play the Fallout New Vegas until you have a good enough relationship with the Legion.

And finally The Crusaders. Ex-BoS members. This sounds interesting. The idea of this mod is to keep it within the existing lore, including the choice of Portland as the location -- in the established lore Portland is a desolate wasteland. I don't know how they will introduce a new faction, yet keeping it lore-friendly.

The fact that you have to side with one faction early on and the questlines being completely different increases the replayability of this mod. I think I will need to drop a hundred hours in this one to see all three paths.

I have not found a Patreon or any other method of paying for this mod, but if I find some way to give money to these guys, I will post it. If this delivers what they promise, I want to pay for this.
Thanks for the list, it's been years since I've played FNV and some stuff might not work or be outdated.

Mod looks really promising (meanwhile - Fallout Brasil/New California went silent), and driving looks nice. It just works... surely better than the one from STALKERs mods.
It's released now and it's massive (25-27 GB of size).

I use a free account on Nexusmods so it took me ages to download this. (Probably should invest in the premium account.) I have it downloaded already but I didn't have time to try it out yet! At least I know what I am going to do today after work.
