Hi All,

I recently started playing Fallout NV Ultimate Edition after having purchased the game several months ago in a sale. I got about 16 hours into the game but suddenly (for no reason I can see) the game no longer loads from a save. Instead it freezes on the loading screen and just loops through the load screens without getting into the game.

I've tried loading from an earlier save but every save I've tried is like this. I'm reluctant to reinstall the game and lose my progress. Anyone encountered similar issues with loading/freezing like this?

I'd appreciate any guidance on how I might fix this.

Many Thanks
HP

This is common with New Vegas.
In most cases, restarting game or loading previous save works. But, since that is not working for you:
You can try rebooting system.
You can try removing any auto-saves
You can try starting a New game, then loading previous save as soon as you are able.

You can look for mods that help with crashing and this odd save thing. It can mitigate this some, but it still happens even with the mods.

Thanks for that feedback. I'll keep trying it. Good to know it's not a permanent problem.
It's a know bug. There's a mod available to help preventing it, but I don't know the name. Try nexusmods.com.
As for your current save, it's still usable:
Start a new game.
Wait till you get control.
Load your save.
Once loaded make a new save, emphasis on new. Don't overwrite the old one, instead delete it. Also delete the auto save and quick save.
