Penquin: Here's an easier way. Add -w to the end of the target for the shortcut, no patches or outside programs required or anything.

thank you. -.-

Anyone know how to play FO2 in windowed mode? I can't get it to work with the stuff mentioned here.
How did you center the screen? Its very hard for me to move the window because it goes into the game when I click the bar on top.

Riksa: I just got Fallout Tactics to run in a window with D3DWindower. At first it crashed at launch, but adding the switch "-3" to the command line did the trick. The switch forces FT to use DirectX 3.
EDIT:
On XP, that is.

Does adding -w work for anyone? It doesn't work for me.

I'm not having any luck in Vista with this.

Horn: There's this mod http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1068 which lets you run FO1/2 in a window but I'm having problems getting it to work.

This mod works, but you can't move the window. Also, for me in Vista x64, the normal cursor is stuck in the very middle of the window. There is also movie corruption in Dx9 mode.

Ah. So is there any way that I would be able to move the window? Because... I want to move the window. And possibly not have my whole screen go black.
EDIT: A combination of that mod and D3D Windower at least moves the window to the center of my screen. I think this is one of those times where I will just be thankful for what works, for whatever reason.

Is that mod only available for Fallout 2? :|
Also, I can't put D3D Windower working :)

For fallout 1, I use DXWND 1.20 program.

http://www.gamefront.com/files/service/thankyou?id=5335168

with Directx9 selected only in the options.

You enlarge the window by draging the bottom right corner. Take note that the mouse cursor will
disappear when you move it to the window border.

For Fallout 2, I use sfall 2.15.7 program.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sfall/files/sfall/

Then modify the ddraw.ini file. I use these values,

[Graphics]
Mode=5
GlobalShaderMode=1
GPUBlt=1
Use32BitHeadGraphics=1

Then run it thru DXWND program with Directx9 selected only in the options.

Then resize it as in fallout 1 above.

Cheers

DXWND does not work with Windows 8.

Try the latest build from sourceforgeversion if you are not doing so already. The one linked earlier is old as hell.
I know it is possible to get FoT working in a window using the "-w" switch. Unfortunately, I am limited to a handful of resolutions compared to what the launcher provides.

Does anyone know how to get FoT working at 1600x900 in a window at 24bpp or 32bpp?
