I am sure this is a very common issue, basically my character continues to walk for a second after I finish pressing the W key. I had this issue in NV also but managed to curb it out with some animation changes I believe. No such luck with 3 thus far, does anyone have a fix for this?

Does the delay occur only when you stop pressing W key or is it present also when you start pressing it? Do you get any kind of mouse lag? Do you use a wireless keyboard?
Could be related to the physics breaking at a high frame rate.

If you have an Nvidia GPU download Nvidia Profile Inspector and cap the game at 60 fps.

It occurs when you stop walking, the character then continues to walk for a second and stops. It was also an issue in New Vegas which I managed to solve by replacing the animations, no such luck in FO3. I think this is quite a common issue but there has been no luck thus far as far as I can see solving it.

My framerate should be capped by vsync at 60fps, but I will check it out later just in case thanks.

Experienced the same issue running on a laptop with an Nvidia GeForce 820M.
So does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
I had this happen the first time I ran Fallout 3 when it first came out. I think I ended up just unplugging my gamepad/joystick, and it worked fine afterwards. This was a few years back though, so maybe I did something else?

Actually fixed the issue. Messing around with Nvidia settings turned out to be quite pointless.

First, I got Fallout 3 Script Extender here: http://fose.silverlock.org/

Then, I got the Fallout Stutter Remover mod from here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/8886

I assumed that the not stopping/rubber banding issue was similar to stuttering and it worked. The main point is that with these two, you will need to start Fallout 3 through FOSE.

Let me know if this works!
