This is not my first play through. It is a first with this version. After clearing out the rats in Klamath I'm suffering radiation poisoning every time I rest or travel. In other words the game is hopelessly glitched for me. No idea why. Can't find any reason its happening.

I think that there are a few mutated rats in the cave, that transmit radiation when they bite (similar to what happens at Militar Base). Or it's a bug.
No luck in finding anti-rad meds? :(
As last resort, you can use f2se and change radiation value to zero.
