Thread title says it all. I completed all the previous quests he gave me, went to the base, cleaned it out, and returned to brag of my conquest. While no other Wrights attack me, Orville attacks as soon as I open the door leading to his room, every time. Anyone else run into this? Not sure it matters but I read that he's supposed to give me the "made man" status, fwiw.

edit to add - I did convince his wife to destroy the stills, which she did, but I assumed that having her do it as opposed to doing it myself would allow me to keep doing quests for the Wright family. Was I wrong?

According to per's walkthrough this quest has no effect on other Wrights, so you probably did something else to piss him off. This never happened to me.

Weird, can't think what that might be. Other than encouraging the wife to blow up the stills I can't think of a single thing I've done in the game adverse to the Wrights - in fact I've deliberately avoided significantly aiding any of the other families yet, because I wanted to complete as many quests as possible for all of them before committing. It's kind of immersion-breaking to have a major NPC suddenly refuse to talk to you anymore, for no identifiable reason. Oh well . . .

Guess that's your cue to pull out the magnum 44 (no speed loader 'cause the ordinary looks better) and butcher everybody* in New Reno. That's what I always end up doing anyway.

*Well except the ones at cats paw and film studio, ' cause they're cool.

Aside of that, Orville has a temper and to my knowledge doesn't cool off.
I've managed to piss him off just like that by saying something dumb, or just by visiting without having anything important.
My guess, you talked to him in a wrong way after taking the mission.
