Recently purchased Fallout 1 and installed it with no issues. When I tried to launch it I got an error message involving initializing video mode in 640x480. I remedied this by renaming the ddraw file as per suggestions I read. This allowed me to launch the game, however following the opening video the graphics suddenly become corrupted and I am unable to read the title menu, not to mention the game screen is very small and would be very difficult to play on. I have tried every solution I have found from running in Windows 95, Xp, Vista and in different modes. I also tried the tip of leaving my screen resolution box open but unfortunately none of these worked. I am unsure of what to do any guidance would be extremely appreciated as I have never played the game and would really like to.

There are several ways to go about fixing the problem, but you should also try installing the hi-resolution patch and/or the Fallout Fixt compilation patch and see if that helps with the display issues.
